This Privacy Policy explains how Bimal Publications (“we”) handles information when you use CBSETest.com. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be clear about it.
1. Information we collect
- Account details (if you sign up): your name and email.
- Learning activity: lessons viewed, practice scores and progress, so we can show your dashboard.
- AI & voice requests: the questions you send to Vidya and text read aloud, processed to generate a response.
- Basic technical data: device/browser type and approximate usage, for security and to improve the Service.
2. Information stored on your device
Some features (your notes, scratch pad, game high scores, voice on/off preference, and login session) are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data stays on your device and is not used for advertising.
3. How we use information
We use your information to provide and personalise the Service, track your progress, run the AI tutor and read-aloud features, enforce fair-use limits, keep the Service secure, and improve our content. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Service providers
We use trusted third parties to operate certain features, and only share what is needed for them to work:
- Google Cloud Text-to-Speech — to convert Vidya’s replies into the spoken (female) voice.
- AI model provider — to generate Vidya’s answers from your questions.
- Hosting & analytics — to serve the site and understand aggregate usage.
These providers process data under their own terms and are not permitted to use it for unrelated purposes.
5. Children’s privacy
CBSETest.com is designed for school learning. We do not knowingly collect more personal information from children than is necessary to provide the Service. Parents or guardians may contact us to review or delete a child’s information.
6. Data security & retention
We take reasonable measures to protect your information and keep it only as long as needed to provide the Service. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
7. Your choices
You can turn the voice feature off at any time, clear locally-stored data from your browser, and request access to or deletion of your account information by contacting us.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; we’ll revise the “last updated” date above when we do.
