English

Thank God

This poem-based lesson teaches us to be grateful for the good things around us — nature, family, food, and health. Being thankful is a wonderful value that makes us and others feel good.

What the Lesson Teaches

We often take things for granted. This lesson helps us notice and appreciate the gifts of nature and life — the sun, rain, trees, food, and the people who care for us.

New Words

  • Grateful – feeling thankful
  • Appreciate – to understand the value of something
  • Nature – trees, rivers, sky, animals, and all things in the world around us
  • Gift – something given freely with love

Expressing Gratitude

  • We use phrases like:
  • "Thank you for ..."
  • "I am grateful for ..."
  • "I am lucky to have ..."
Example 1

Thank you for the warm sunshine.
(We thank nature for giving us sunlight.)

Example 2

I am grateful for the food on my plate.
(We appreciate having enough food to eat.)

Example 3

Thank God for the rain that helps flowers grow.
(We are thankful for rain because it helps plants and crops.)

Example 4

I am lucky to have a family that loves me.
(We appreciate the love and care of our family.)

Example 5

Thank you, birds, for your cheerful songs every morning.
(We appreciate the beauty of bird songs in nature.)

Rhyming Words

  • Poems often use rhyming words — words that end with the same sound:
  • rain / plain
  • tree / free
  • sky / high
  • sun / run
  • care / there

Punctuation: Exclamation Mark (!)

  • We use "!" to show strong feelings like joy or surprise.
  • What a beautiful morning!
  • I am so happy today!

Common mistakes

  • Do not say "I thankful." Say "I am thankful."
  • Do not say "Thank you for the suns." Say "Thank you for the sun."
